Control the wrist.

Step outside.

Turn the shoulder.

Take the back.

Finish.

He stopped himself.

He released the boy.

“Go home.”

The teenager stared at him.

“You think you're funny?”

Daniel shook his head.

“No. I'm trying to keep you from doing something you'll regret.”

Then the other four moved in.

Five against one.

Daniel glanced toward Sophie.

She was crying now.

“Daddy!”

That was the moment Daniel knew he couldn't simply walk away.

Not because he wanted to fight.

Because the boys were surrounding him.

And because one of them had begun moving toward his daughter.

Daniel's voice became cold.

“Don't.”

The teenager stopped.

“What?”

“Don't go near her.”

The boy grinned.

“What are you going to do?”

Daniel looked at him.

For the first time in years, something returned to his eyes that had been buried beneath grief, work, and fatherhood.

The fighter.

Not the man who had once chased victory.

The man who knew exactly how dangerous violence could become.

“I'm asking you one last time.”

The teenager laughed.

Then he lunged.

Daniel moved.

Everything happened in less than two seconds.

He stepped aside.

The teenager's momentum carried him forward.

Daniel caught his arm and redirected him toward the grass.

No punch.

No kick.

No dramatic move.

Just balance.

The teenager fell hard enough to lose his breath.

His friends froze.

Daniel released him immediately.

“Stay down.”

The boy stared up at him.

“What the hell are you?”

Daniel didn't answer.

Another teenager attacked from behind.

Daniel heard the footsteps.

He pivoted.

Caught the boy's wrist.

Turned.

The boy found himself against Daniel's shoulder, unable to move.

Daniel whispered:

“Go home.”

Then he let him go.

The teenager stumbled backward.

The remaining three suddenly looked less confident.

But pride was stronger than common sense.

One of them pulled off his jacket.

“Get him.”

Daniel sighed.

He knew what was coming.

Three teenagers rushed him at once.

Daniel stepped backward.

One swung.

He ducked.

Another grabbed his shirt.

Daniel broke the grip.

A third tried to tackle him.

Daniel sprawled.

The teenager hit the grass.

Daniel immediately backed away.

“Enough!”

But the boys didn't listen.

They attacked again.

And this time, Daniel stopped holding back completely.

Not with punches.

Not with rage.

With technique.

He moved like someone who had spent decades studying human movement.

A wrist was controlled.

A shoulder turned.

A leg was swept.

One attacker landed safely on the grass.

Another was pinned for three seconds before Daniel released him.

The fifth boy simply stopped.

Silence spread across the park.

The entire confrontation had lasted less than a minute.

Daniel stood breathing heavily.

The five teenagers were scattered around him.

Nobody was seriously injured.

Nobody had been punched.

But all five suddenly understood that they had made a terrible mistake.

Daniel walked toward his daughter.

“Are you okay?”

Sophie nodded through tears.

“Are you hurt?”

She shook her head.

Daniel knelt.

“Look at me.”

She did.

“I'm okay.”

Sophie hugged him.

Daniel wrapped his arms around her.

“Let's go home.”

Behind them, one of the teenagers shouted:

“This isn't over!”

Daniel turned.

The boy was standing.

His face was red with humiliation.

“You don't know who my father is!”

Daniel stared at him.

“I don't care.”

“You'll regret this!”

Daniel looked at the five boys.

Then at the crowd.

Then back at his daughter.

He walked away.

He thought that would be the end.
