the shoulder.

The crowd outside the cage fell dead silent. The laughter died in their throats.

Julian spun around, his face flushing violently red. The tap on the shoulder was an insult of the highest order.

It was a master telling a student he had failed.

"You got lucky, janitor," Julian hissed, his ego flaring into blind rage. The calculated strikes of a champion

vanished, replaced by the furious, brawling instinct of a humiliated man.

"Forty seconds!"

Julian abandoned his footwork and charged. He threw a wild, looping overhand right, followed by a vicious

left hook. It was a barrage meant to overwhelm, to batter through any defense.

Arthur began to move. And it was a revelation.

He didn't fight back; he danced. He moved with a liquid grace that defied his age and his supposed limp. He

utilized the ancient Capoeira principle of *ginga*, a constant, rhythmic shifting of weight that made him an

impossible target. He ducked under the overhand right, weaved flawlessly outside the left hook, and pivoted

out of the pocket.

Julian threw a front kick to the chest; Arthur caught the ankle with one hand, redirected the force upward,

and let go, causing Julian to overbalance and fall awkwardly onto his hands and knees.

The silence outside the cage was absolute. The reigning world champion was flailing, hitting nothing but air,

being made to look like a drunken amateur by a forty-five-year-old man who cleaned their toilets.

"Thirty seconds!"

Julian scrambled to his feet, panting heavily, not from exertion, but from pure, adrenaline-fueled rage.

Humiliation burned in his chest like battery acid. He looked at Arthur. The janitor was standing exactly as he

had at the beginning: relaxed, hands down, breathing evenly through his nose. He wasn't even sweating.

"I'm gonna kill you!" Julian screamed, losing his mouthpiece as he roared.

He lunged forward, feinting a jab and shooting low for a double-leg takedown. If he couldn't hit the old man,

he would drag him to the mat and smash him with elbows.

It was a textbook shot, explosive and fast.

But Arthur had anticipated it the moment Julian dropped his center of gravity. As Julian shot in, Arthur

sprawled perfectly, throwing his hips back and driving his heavy chest onto the back of Julian's neck,

instantly crushing the champion's momentum. Arthur was immovable, an anvil of solid muscle and perfect

leverage.

Julian grunted, trying to drive through the sprawl, trying to reach Arthur's legs. But Arthur’s hands, the hands

that scrubbed floors and fixed plumbing, were suddenly gripping Julian's wrists with the crushing force of a

steel vise.

Arthur didn't strike. He simply held Julian down on the mat, dominating him with pure, agonizing pressure.

He leaned in, putting his mouth near Julian's ear.

"Twenty seconds," Arthur whispered, his voice cold and devoid of mercy. "You are out of your depth, boy."

Chapter 7: Thirty Seconds of Hell

Panic, cold and sharp, pierced through Julian's rage. He was the champion. He was "The Viper." He

submitted black belts and knocked out kickboxers. Yet, beneath this gray-haired janitor, he felt entirely

helpless. The pressure on his neck was immense, cutting off his air, bowing his spine in a way that screamed

of impending injury.

Desperation took over. Julian abandoned technique and fought dirty.

With Arthur sprawling on top of him, Julian violently thrashed, freeing one of his hands from Arthur's grip.

Instead of trying to stand, Julian blindly reached back and drove his thumb toward Arthur's eyes, aiming to

gouge him. It was a foul, cowardly move, one that would warrant an instant disqualification in any

sanctioned bout.

Arthur felt the thumb scrape across his cheekbone, inches from his eye.

In that fraction of a second, the vow of non-violence, the ten years of penance, the careful suppression of the

Ghost... it all shattered. The janitor died on the canvas, and the phantom of Vale Tudo was resurrected in a

terrifying surge of dark energy.

Arthur didn't just dodge the eye gouge; he caught Julian's offending wrist with his left hand. The movement

was so fast it was a blur. He didn't try to hold it; he snapped his hips forward, locking Julian's arm against his

own body, and violently torqued Julian's elbow against its natural joint.

A sickening *pop* echoed through the silent gym, followed by Julian's agonized scream.

Arthur let go of the sprawl and spun to Julian's back with the agility of a panther. Before Julian could even

process the pain in his hyper-extended arm, Arthur had sunk both of his legs inside Julian's thighs,

establishing vicious body hooks.

"Ten seconds!" the timekeeper yelled, his voice cracking with terror.

Arthur flattened Julian out on his stomach, driving his hips down, effectively paralyzing the champion. He

slid his right arm under Julian's chin, not going for a clean rear-naked choke, but a brutal, crushing face

crank. He locked his hands together, his bicep pressing against the side of Julian's neck, his forearm grinding

into Julian's nose and teeth.

Arthur squeezed.

It wasn't a squeeze to hold a position; it was a squeeze designed to break the jaw and shatter the orbital

bones. The muscles in Arthur's forearms bulged, hard as iron. His face, previously serene, was now a mask of

terrifying, predatory fury. His eyes were wide, unblinking, staring into the void as he applied crushing, lethal

pressure.

Julian gurgled, a sound of absolute terror and agony. He frantically tapped the mat with his good hand. Slap,

slap, slap. He tapped furiously, begging for release, begging for mercy.

The champion of the world was broken, entirely at the mercy of a man he had mocked just minutes ago.

"Tap! He's tapping! Stop!" Coach Marcus screamed from outside the cage, rattling the locked door

frantically. "Time! Time is up!"

The buzzer blared loudly, echoing through the gym.

"Five! Four! Three! Two! One! Time!" the kid holding the timer yelled hysterically.

Arthur heard the buzzer. He felt Julian's frantic tapping. He heard the screaming of the coaches. But for a
