"Still no."
Julian's pride cracked.
"What are you afraid of?"
Arthur looked at him for several seconds.
"Nothing."
"Then fight me."
Arthur glanced toward the cage.
There were dozens of people watching.
Some were curious.
Some were uncomfortable.
Some were already recording with their phones.
Arthur understood what Julian wanted.
A spectacle.
A rich young man beating a middle-aged janitor.
Something everyone could laugh about later.
Arthur could have walked away.
Instead, he remembered another room.
Another cage.
Another night.
Another young man who had believed he was untouchable.
Arthur closed his eyes for a moment.
Then he opened them.
"One round?"
Julian smiled.
"One round."
"No cameras."
Julian laughed.
"Why? Afraid people might see?"
Arthur ignored the question.
"And you listen when I say stop."
Julian nodded.
"Fine."
Marcus stepped between them.
"Arthur, you don't have to do this."
Arthur looked at him.
"I know."
"Then don't."
Arthur gave a faint smile.
"I've spent a long time avoiding cages."
Marcus frowned.
"What does that mean?"
Arthur did not answer.
He walked toward the locker room.
The gym watched him disappear through the door.
Julian was already celebrating.
His friends slapped his shoulders.
One of them laughed.
"You're actually going to fight the janitor."
Julian smiled.
"He's going to regret saying yes."
Five minutes later, Arthur returned.
The faded blue work shirt was gone.
So were the work shoes.
He wore plain black training shorts and an old gray T-shirt.
No expensive gloves.
No sponsor logo.
No flashy equipment.
He walked barefoot toward the cage.
And something changed.
It was subtle.
Almost invisible.
But Marcus Bell noticed.
Arthur's shoulders were no longer rounded.
His head was no longer tilted downward.
His steps had changed.
The man who had spent years moving quietly around other people suddenly walked like someone who had spent his entire life inside fighting spaces.
Marcus stared.
"Where did you learn to move like that?"
Arthur didn't answer.
Julian climbed into the cage.
"Come on."
Arthur entered.
The door closed.
The crowd gathered around.
Julian bounced lightly on his feet.
Arthur stood still.
Julian laughed.
"You know the rules?"
Arthur looked at him.
"Yes."
The bell rang.
Julian attacked immediately.
A fast jab.
A right cross.
A low kick.
Arthur moved backward.
The punches missed.
The kick cut through empty air.
Julian blinked.
He attacked again.
This time, Arthur stepped sideways.
Only once.
Julian's fist passed inches from his face.
Arthur still hadn't thrown a punch.
The crowd became quiet.
Julian's expression hardened.
He attacked a third time.
And Arthur finally moved forward.
One step.
One hand.
One short motion.
Julian suddenly found himself standing against the cage.
He didn't understand how he had gotten there.
Arthur looked into his eyes.
"Slow down."
Julian's face turned red.
The humiliation had begun.
But not for Arthur.
For Julian.
And the three minutes had barely started.
The Ghost in the Cage
Julian pushed off the cage with all the strength he had.
He threw a hook.
Arthur ducked.
Julian followed with a knee.
Arthur stepped away.
A straight punch.
Blocked.
Another.
Missed.
Julian began breathing harder.
Arthur had not thrown a single meaningful strike.
That made the situation worse.
The spectators were silent.
Some looked confused.
Others were beginning to understand.
Julian wasn't fighting someone helpless.
He was fighting someone who knew exactly what he was doing.
"Stop running!" Julian shouted.
Arthur remained calm.
"I'm not running."
Julian charged.
Arthur waited until the last possible moment.
Then he shifted his weight.
Julian stumbled past him.
Arthur caught his arm.
A simple grip.
A twist.
Julian hit the mat.
The sound was not loud.
But the silence afterward was.
Julian scrambled up.
His face was burning.
"Get up," he shouted.
Arthur was already standing.
Julian attacked again.
This time he tried to wrestle.
He shot for Arthur's legs.
Arthur sprawled.
Julian found himself trapped underneath him.
Arthur did not strike.
He simply controlled the position.
Julian struggled.
Nothing worked.
"Let me go!"
Arthur released him immediately.
Julian rolled away and stood.
Marcus Bell stared through the cage.
He had seen thousands of fighters.
He had seen professionals.
Champions.
Veterans.
Natural athletes.
Arthur's movement was different.
There was no wasted energy.
No anger.
No excitement.
He moved as though the fight had already happened inside his mind.
Julian threw another combination.
Arthur blocked the first strike, avoided the second, and stopped the third with his forearm.
Then he touched Julian's chest with two fingers.
A tiny gesture.
Julian froze.
Arthur could have hit him.
Instead, he had chosen not to.
That was the moment Julian understood.
Arthur wasn't struggling to survive.
He was choosing how much of himself to reveal.
Julian attacked out of desperation.
Arthur swept his leg.
Julian crashed down.
The bell rang.
Three minutes.
Nobody spoke.
Arthur stepped back.
