Jenkins stared at Davies in utter disbelief, her mouth parting in shock as she watched her partner back away from the motorcycle. "Mark! Are you insane? He admitted to drifting across the lane, he's driving twenty miles under the limit, and you're just going to let him ride off with a warning? We don't even know if his registration is current!" Davies grabbed Jenkins firmly by the elbow, pulling her back toward the patrol car out of earshot while keeping his eyes locked on the old veteran. "Drop it, Sarah. Right now. You don't know who you're dealing with, and trust me, you do not want to pull that thread." Jenkins yanked her arm away, her face flushing crimson with anger and humiliation as she whispered fiercely, "I don't care if he's a retired general or the president of the damn United States! Nobody talks to me like that, and nobody gets a free pass on my watch just because they're old and stubborn!" Without waiting for Davies to stop her, Jenkins spun around, marched back toward the motorcycle, and reached out to grab the handlebar. "Mr. Harris, step off the bike. We're going to conduct a sobriety check right here and now, and I'm calling for a tow truck to impound this unregistered vehicle until—”
