It was a simple, indisputable fact. His ranch was private property, entirely exempt from the arbitrary rules, fees, and aesthetic demands of her neighborhood committee. The HOA had absolutely zero legal standing to fine him, let alone seize and auction his family's livelihood.
The HOA woman, blinded by her own arrogance, refused to listen to reason. To her, anyone bordering her neighborhood was subject to her rule. A triumphant, arrogant smirk spread across her face.
"Doesn't matter," she snapped back dismissively, entirely disregarding the law. "Saturday all 47 acres go to auction."
