David did not panic. His pulse did not elevate. As a man whose entire career revolved around identifying and neutralizing security threats, he recognized Brenda’s tactic instantly: intimidation by proxy. He walked over to his entry table and picked up a thick, heavy black binder. Inside that binder was every single page of the Oak Creek Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs), cross-referenced with state property and privacy laws.

David unlocked the deadbolt and pulled the door open, stepping out just far enough to fill the doorframe. He held the black binder securely against his chest with both hands, forming a physical and legal barrier. He looked past Brenda, offering a brief, respectful nod to the officers, before locking his cold, unyielding gaze onto the HOA President.

Brenda did not waste a single second. The moment David opened the door, she launched her offensive, desperate to assert her dominance while the police officers were present. She stepped forward, planting her beige heels onto the concrete of his porch, invading his personal space.

She thrust her right arm out, extending her index finger directly toward David’s face in a sharp, aggressive motion. Her voice was shrill, cutting through the quiet morning air of the suburban street.

"You're refusing a standard inspection," Brenda barked, her face contorting into a scowl of pure entitlement. She pointed her finger again, this time jabbing it toward the interior of David's home. "Open the door and cooperate."
