The Bennett family became the subject of national attention.

Then the worst accusation appeared.

A document surfaced showing that Daniel had allegedly approved one of the suspicious transactions.

Victoria confronted him.

"Did you sign this?"

"No."

"Your authorization code is here."

"It's been copied."

"That's impossible."

Daniel stared at the document.

Then he remembered.

Three months earlier, he had given Richard temporary access to his system while traveling.

His face went pale.

"Richard."

Victoria froze.

"What?"

"I think Uncle Richard did it."

Before she could answer, the office doors opened.

Federal investigators entered.

"Daniel Bennett?"

"Yes."

"You need to come with us."

Victoria stepped forward.

"On what grounds?"

"We have evidence connecting him to the transactions."

Daniel looked at his mother.

"Mom..."

She didn't speak.

For the first time, he saw fear in her eyes.

Outside, cameras flashed.

Reporters shouted.

"Daniel! Did you steal from the company?"

"Did you know about the fraud?"

"Was your girlfriend involved?"

Daniel stopped.

"What did you say?"

The reporter repeated:

"Was the street vendor involved in helping you?"

Daniel's face hardened.

"No."

He was taken away.

Lily watched the news from her apartment.

Her hands trembled.

Then her phone rang.

It was Claire.

"Don't panic."

"I'm trying."

"We believe Daniel."

"Does your mother?"

There was silence.

"I don't know."

Lily closed her eyes.

"Claire, I need to help."

"You can't."

"I can."

"How?"

Lily looked at the documents Daniel had given her during their conversations.

She remembered his explanation of the company's supply systems.

She remembered the transactions.

She remembered something else.

A name.

A company Daniel had mentioned casually.

"Claire, send me the transaction records."

"Why?"

"I think I know how they did it."

That night, Lily worked until sunrise.

She compared dates.

Invoices.

Shipping records.

Bank transfers.

Company addresses.

Then she noticed the pattern.

The shell companies weren't random.

They all had addresses connected to a warehouse district.

And the warehouse district supplied Bennett Holdings with food products.

Lily understood.

The fraud wasn't being hidden in the finance department.

It was being hidden in the supply chain.

She called Claire.

"I found something."

"What?"

"Someone has been inflating purchase orders."

"How much?"

"Enough to move millions."

"Can you prove it?"

"I can if I get access to the original invoices."

Claire was silent.

"Where?"

Lily gave her the address.

Claire whispered,

"That's one of Richard's properties."

Lily closed her eyes.

"Exactly."

The next morning, Lily went to the police with everything she had.

But there was a problem.

She wasn't an employee of Bennett Holdings.

She had no official access.

Her evidence could be dismissed.

Then someone unexpected arrived.

Victoria.

She walked into the small sandwich shop where Lily was sitting.

For several seconds, neither spoke.

Finally, Victoria said,

"I was wrong about you."

Lily looked up.

"You were."

Victoria sat down.

"Daniel needs us."

Lily nodded.

"Yes."

Victoria placed a folder on the table.

"I can get you the original documents."

Lily stared at her.

"Why?"

"Because you're the only person who saw what we refused to see."

"What?"

Victoria's eyes filled with tears.

"That my son didn't need someone rich."

She paused.

"He needed someone who could see him."

Lily reached across the table.

For the first time, they held hands.

 The Truth Comes to Light

The investigation lasted three days.

Lily, Claire, and Victoria worked with investigators to reconstruct the financial trail.

Every piece led back to Richard.
