He believed people might listen.

And perhaps most importantly, he understood that being afraid did not mean being weak.

Leo looked toward the sign.

"Did you really have to put my name there?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because people should remember."

Leo looked thoughtful.

"Remember what?"

Riker stared down the road.

"That someone small can change something big."

Leo smiled.

Then he looked at Riker's motorcycle.

"Are you riding today?"

"Eventually."

"Can I come?"

Riker looked at him.

"Your mother knows?"

"Yes."

"Helmet?"

Leo pointed toward the bicycle basket.

"Right there."

Riker nodded.

"Good."

Leo climbed off the bicycle.

He walked toward the motorcycle.

Riker watched him.

Then he looked toward the mountains.

For fifteen years, Riker had ridden roads because roads were where he felt most comfortable.

The Army had taught him to read terrain.

The Steel Saw Chapter had taught him loyalty.

Leo had taught him something else.

Sometimes the most important road was the one that led you toward danger when everyone else was running away.

Riker put on his helmet.

Leo climbed onto the passenger seat.

"Ready?"

Leo nodded.

"Ready."

Riker started the engine.

The motorcycle roared to life.

Then another engine sounded behind them.

Roar.

Then Wyatt.

Then the rest of the Steel Saw Chapter.

One by one, the motorcycles filled the road.

Riker looked at Leo in the mirror.

The boy was smiling.

They started down the mountain.

Behind them came dozens of motorcycles.

Then hundreds.

Not for war.

Not for revenge.

Not for fear.

For family.

For loyalty.

For the people who had once believed nobody would stand up for them.

And somewhere in the distance, beneath the old rail bridge where fourteen armed men had once waited in confidence, the road carried the sound of the motorcycles away.

Leo watched the mountains pass.

He remembered the night he had ridden into the darkness.

He remembered being afraid.

He remembered thinking he might not make it.

But he had.

And now he understood something he would carry for the rest of his life.

Courage wasn't loud.

It didn't always look like a soldier.

It didn't always look like eight hundred motorcycles filling a city street.

Sometimes courage looked like a nine-year-old boy with a broken shoelace, a rusted bicycle, and a folded piece of notebook paper in his pocket.

Sometimes courage sounded like a thin voice screaming through the roar of engines:

"Wait! They're going to kill you!"

And sometimes, if someone was willing to listen, that little voice could change everything.

The motorcycles disappeared around the next bend.

The mountains swallowed the sound.

But the road remained.

And so did the lesson.

Never dismiss the voice that warns you.

Never underestimate the person who is afraid but moves anyway.

And never forget that one brave decision, made by one ordinary person at exactly the right moment, can change the fate of everyone around them.

Leo had ridden into the night to save twelve strangers.

Instead, he had found a family.

And the Steel Saw Chapter had found something too.

A reason to remember why loyalty mattered.

Why courage mattered.

Why protecting the vulnerable mattered.

The road ahead was long.

There would be other dangers.

Other corrupt men.

Other people who believed money could buy silence and power could erase truth.

But Riker Cross no longer believed the fight was only about strength.

It was about people.

People who stood together.

People who listened.

People who refused to look away.

He glanced once more into the mirror.

Leo was still smiling.

Riker smiled beneath his helmet.

Then he opened the throttle.

The motorcycle surged forward.

The rest followed.

And the sound of the Steel Saw Chapter rolled across the mountain like distant thunder.

Not a warning.

Not a threat.

A promise.

They were still here.

And they were not riding alone.
