"Stay on your knee!" Vance roared, his voice cracking with the strain of his own manufactured rage. He jabbed a thick, trembling finger inches from the Marine’s eye, the gesture a desperate attempt to force submission from a man who clearly knew no such concept.

The Marine did not flinch. His dark, piercing eyes tracked Vance’s finger with the calm, terrifying observation of a predator watching a frantic insect. He drew a slow, measured breath, his chest expanding beneath the heavy fabric of his uniform. When he finally spoke, his voice was a low, resonant rumble that effortlessly cut through Vance’s hysterical shouting.

"You should stop now, officer," the Marine stated. There was no plea in his tone, no trace of fear. It was a cold, objective presentation of fact. It was a warning delivered with the absolute certainty of a man who had faced true terror and found this parking lot display utterly lacking.

Vance’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief. The audacity of the captive to challenge the captor shattered whatever remaining composure he possessed. He slammed his hand against his own chest, right over his gleaming silver badge.

"I'm the authority here!" Vance screamed, spit flying from his lips as he desperately tried to reassert his dominance over the concrete arena.

The Marine’s expression shifted, the faintest ghost of a smirk touching the corner of his mouth. It was an expression of quiet, devastating pity. He didn't look at Vance’s badge. Instead, his gaze drifted slightly, looking past the enraged officer's shoulder toward the entrance of the parking lot.

"Then turn around," the Marine said, his voice dropping an octave, settling into a chilling calm. "Your authority just arrived."
