"Ladies and gentlemen, today marks a new era for Vanguard Holdings. We went looking for a

visionary. A leader who doesn't just understand numbers, but understands people, culture, and

the future of business. Please join me in welcoming our new Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Maya

Sterling."

The room erupted in polite applause. The side doors opened.

aya walked onto the stage. She was a vision of absolute authority, dressed in a sharp,

tailored navy blue power suit, her hair styled immaculately. As she approached the

In the third row, Richard's hands stopped mid-clap. His mouth fell slightly open. Todd leaned

forward, squinting. The blood drained from Richard's face so fast he looked as though he might

Maya looked out over the sea of faces, letting the silence stretch for a moment. Her eyes scanned

the first few rows until they locked onto Richard. She held his gaze for a terrifying three seconds.

He visibly shrank in his seat.

"Good morning, Vanguard," Maya began, her voice echoing through the massive hall. "I am

thrilled to be here. I've spent the last few weeks studying this company. I've read the balance

sheets, I've analyzed the portfolios, and I've reviewed the market forecasts."

She paused, gripping the edges of the podium.
