people. You have to see how it operates when it thinks nobody important is watching."
his past Sunday," Maya continued, the room falling deathly silent, "I paid a visit to the
42nd floor. I was dressed casually. I wanted to observe. During that visit, I was mistaken
for a member of our janitorial staff."

leadership, laughing at the concept of diversity, and proudly declaring a culture of toxicity."
Richard was physically trembling. He looked around wildly, but there was nowhere to hide.

misunderstanding. A terrible mistake."
"The only mistake you made, Richard, was revealing your true character," Maya replied swiftly.
"You are terminated, effective immediately. For creating a hostile work environment,
insubordination, and gross misconduct."
Before Richard could protest, Maya continued. "Todd Jenkins and Marcus Cole, you are also
terminated for complicity and fostering toxicity. Security is currently at your desks packing your
personal belongings. You will be escorted from the building immediately."
