"Where is the child?" Jessica snapped, her voice dropping its usual sweet lilt, glaring at her reflection. She waved a manicured hand dismissively at her stylist. "She was supposed to be in her flower girl dress twenty minutes ago. I swear, she does this on purpose to ruin my timeline."
"I think she went to the kitchen for a snack, ma'am," an assistant murmured nervously.
Jessica’s eyes narrowed. "I'll handle it. Give me a minute." She stood up, the heavy satin of her gown rustling aggressively against the hardwood floor. She marched out of the room, her face twisting into a scowl. She was sick of the catering to the child. Once the ring was on her finger and the vows were said, she planned to send Lily to a boarding school in Switzerland. But for now, she needed the kid presentable.
