Liam opened the app. The live feed loaded, showing Susan marching up his porch steps. She wasn't alone. Trailing behind her was a scruffy-looking man carrying a heavy canvas tool bag.

"Just drill the cylinder and swap it out," Susan commanded the man, pointing at Liam's door. "He is an illegal squatter. I'm the property manager. I'll pay you double."

The shady locksmith shrugged, pulled out a heavy-duty power drill, and stepped up to the door. Liam watched in real-time, his heart pounding, as the man pressed the drill bit against the keyhole of the new smart lock and pulled the trigger.

A loud, metallic screech echoed through the audio feed.

The locksmith cursed, dropping the drill. "Lady, what is this thing? It just snapped my carbide bit in half! There's a titanium plate in there. I can't drill this. I can't even pick it."

"Well, use a crowbar! Kick it in!" Susan yelled, losing her mind. "I am the President!"

Back in the city, Liam calmly pressed the microphone icon on his phone app.
