The absolute disrespect, coupled with the blatant trespassing, was the final straw. Mark’s patience evaporated. He closed the distance in two rapid strides, stepping right into Tyler's personal space. He raised his right hand, pointing a rock-steady index finger directly into the young man's face.

"Touch my property again, and-" Mark began, his voice a low, terrifying growl.

"And what?" Tyler interrupted, completely misreading the situation. He thought Mark was just another suburban dad, too afraid of conflict to actually do anything. Tyler reached down, twisted the key that Mark had carelessly left in the ignition, and hit the starter button. The engine roared to life.

Brenda smirked, crossing her arms. "Let this be a lesson. You can pick it up from our garage once the two-hundred-dollar fine clears the HOA bank account."

With a flick of the wrist, Tyler slammed the ATV into gear and hit the throttle. The machine lurched forward, speeding down Mark's driveway and turning sharply onto the street. Brenda turned on her heel and strutted away, looking incredibly pleased with herself.

Mark stood on his driveway, watching the ATV disappear around the corner. He didn't yell. He didn't chase them. In fact, a slow, dark smile began to spread across his face.

Brenda and Tyler thought they had just flexed their HOA authority. They didn't realize they had just committed Grand Theft Auto in broad daylight. More importantly, they had just stolen a vehicle belonging to a federal agent.

Mark walked calmly back into his house, locking the door behind him. He walked into his home office, which looked less like a suburban study and more like a tactical command center. He picked up his encrypted cell phone and dialed a number he knew by heart.
