Tyler, realizing the severity of the situation, raised his hands in the air, his arrogant smirk entirely gone. "Wait, wait! It was her idea! She told me to take it! She said it was an HOA rule!"

"The HOA doesn't supersede state and federal law, son," Captain Miller said, stepping forward with a pair of handcuffs. "Turn around and put your hands behind your back."

"You can't do this!" Brenda screamed, tears of sheer panic streaming down her face as an officer grabbed her wrists. "I'm the President! I have rules! He parked it illegally!"

As the handcuffs clicked shut over Brenda's wrists, Mark stood exactly where he had been in his own driveway just an hour prior. He looked at the crying young man and the hysterical woman in the red blazer.

"I warned you," Mark said quietly, his voice cutting through her screams. "I told you your HOA had no authority. Enjoy holding your next board meeting in the county jail."
