Mark didn't raise his voice. He didn't stand up. He simply looked at the officer, then at Brenda, and stated a single, undeniable fact: "I own every inch you're pointing at."

Brenda scoffed loudly, crossing her arms. "He is lying! I demand you remove him from this property immediately and run his background. I guarantee you he's a criminal!"

The officer sighed. "Ma'am, I need to see identification from both of you to clear this call."

Mark calmly reached into his pocket, pulled out his wallet, and handed his driver's license to the officer. The address on the card perfectly matched the numbers painted on the porch pillar. Brenda, looking smug and victorious, fished her ID out of her tracksuit pocket and shoved it into the officer's hand.
